From a young age I have always been fascinated by the human body and its ability to maintain stasis. This fascination translated to an interest in Chiropractic when I was a teenager, as I sustained a back injury by falling off my Segway. As the only way I could find relief from my chronic back pain was unwillingly asking my sister to stand on my back, I decided to seek help from a professional. After visiting a Chiropractor, the instant relief I experienced in my symptoms was enough for me to decide that I too wanted to offer this relief for other pain sufferers.
I have a particular interest in sporting injuries and patients suffering from chronic back pain as this is something that used to limit myself and have a real impact on my activities of normal daily life. After studying for 5 years and graduating from the Welsh Institute of Chiropractic with a Master’s degree, I learned that it’s not only important to provide patients with an accurate diagnosis and treatment plan that will provide pain relief, but also to aid patients in the self-management of persistent pain in order to improve their self-efficacy and therefore quality of life.
